Shreya Ghoshal is undoubtedly another phenomenon after Indian nightingale Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhonsle. I was fortunate enough to watch her, performing live at recent Ganesha festival Utsav 2010. I am big fan of her sweet, soothing voice. She is the winner of several awards including National Film awards, Filmfare awards at a very young age. I have been following her since her Sa Re Ga Ma on Zee TV days. She has sung several Kannada songs and most of them have become huge hit.
I read in WikipediA website that she has got special recognition from the governer of US state of Ohio, Ted Strickland declared by a proclamation that June 26th, 2010 is "Shreya Ghoshal Day" in the state of Ohio in recognition of Shreya's musical contribution. Swami Vivekananda and Rabindranath Tagore were the only Indians to receive this title. She recently lend her voice to Bengaluru band 'AGAM' for their song ' LIVE AGAIN' in support of breast cancer awareness.
